General Statement of Duties: Primarily responsible for analyzing current and new business processes to determine the appropriate implementation into a SharePoint based ecosystem. The SharePoint Business Analyst will be responsible for reviewing departmental content and processes to develop requirements and specifications that leverage the capabilities of SharePoint. SharePoint Support – Participate in the definition and enforcement of MOHELA’s SharePoint governance process. Provide recommendations on how to leverage SharePoint’s capabilities towards business processes and other available IT/development tools. Document SharePoint functionality and assist where necessary in training MOHELA staff on SharePoint features and proper usage.
Systems Analysis/Design – Prepare project documents as required by MOHELA’s System Development/Acquisition Life Cycle. Formulate system solutions in alignment with overall business strategies. Based on standard processes, review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs. Ensure that a written detailed description of user needs, business requirements, and steps required to develop and implement the development request are created and stored in a manner where modifications are easily tracked and retrieved. Design, develop, and implement quality assurance processes. Monitor projects to ensure that specifications are met.
Project Management – Develop necessary project plans to ensure timely and efficient completion of assigned projects. Ensure that business requirements and system management requirements are well defined and are incorporated into each project plan. Ensure that projects stay within the scope of the project proposal. Submit completed project plans to Management personnel for final approval. Assemble and/or monitor project teams to ensure that team members are assigned appropriately with representation from all the necessary business units.
Quality Assurance – Ensure that project plans and functional specifications have been reviewed and approved by the Project Sponsor, Legal, Policy and Compliance, Security, and the necessary business units before being turned over to the application development team. Conduct system, integration and quality assurance testing for all application acquisition/development projects to ensure objectives are met. Conduct post-implementation follow-up activities.
Training – Assist with staff training as requested for new/changed products. Ensure product-training materials are designed, developed, documented, and delivered to the appropriate users. Work with MOHELA’s training department and marketing team to ensure complete understanding of the product or service.
Technology/Industry Trends – Achieve and maintain a current working knowledge of technology application development standards and processes. Stay current on trends within the student loan industry. Attend seminars and conferences designed to build knowledge of the same.
Communication – Create and distribute written communications as necessary regarding new products or services. Effectively interact with other MOHELA staff and external parties for the purpose of gathering and providing information related to product development or industry initiatives.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, IT or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting, administering, designing and/or deploying SharePoint based solutions. Experience in an agile development environment is highly desirable. Any experience working within a contact center environment is a plus.
Computer Skills: Experience in SharePoint 2013 or 2010, Project Management software, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, and SQL. Experience in requirements gathering and analysis, writing functional/technical specifications, and user interface development. Basic knowledge of .NET and web-based programming techniques would be a plus.
Must be able to obtain an appropriate public trust security clearance as required of federal government contractors to include a background check conducted by the U.S. Government to determine eligibility and suitability for federal contract employment for public trust or sensitive positions
